Fortunately, an active transposon of zebrafish (ZeBrafish, named as ZB transposon) was successfully uncovered with the great help of my supervisor Prof. Chengyi Song, during my postgraduate period. ZB transposon not only has high transposition activity in its host zebrafish, but also has high jumping ability in mammals (such as mice). Therefore, ZB can be widely used as an efficient genetic research tool. In addition, ZB transposon has obtained the national invention patent authorization.
